Hokkaido Matryoshka
A unique chocolate confection inspired by the Russian nesting dolls known as Matryoshka. Wakkanai, the northernmost city in Hokkaido, is a place where Sakhalin can be seen just about 43km away from Cape Soya. With a history where South Sakhalin was Japanese territory from 1905 to 1945, and with Russian signage still visible in the city today, it is a place with deep ties to Russia. The design of this snack incorporates an exotic atmosphere characteristic of such a border town. Its adorable appearance, much like nesting dolls, is sure to pique the interest of travelers. It is a somewhat rare Hokkaido souvenir that allows you to feel the history of Japan's northernmost land.
