Rokkatei Hachiju-hachiya

A seasonal Japanese confection from Obihiro's Rokkatei, delivered during the new tea season. 'Hachiju-hachiya' refers to the 88th day after the beginning of spring, around early May—a time that heralds the arrival of early summer, famously known through tea-picking songs. This product consists of matcha-flavored mochi filled with smooth red bean paste (koshian). The set contains 9 pieces and features a unique way to enjoy it: sprinkling the included separate matcha powder to your preferred intensity. The refreshing aroma of matcha paired with the elegant sweetness of the red bean paste is perfect for the season of fresh greenery. Available only during the month of May. The fun of applying the matcha yourself makes tea time even more enriching. It is a treat you'll want to savor slowly while feeling the early summer breeze.
