Rokkatei Anmitsu
A seasonal anmitsu delivered in summer by Rokkatei of Obihiro. This summer sweet is so popular that it often sells out early at retail stores every year. Its characteristic feature is the two-tiered container. The top tier contains fruits, mochi, and red bean paste (anko), while the bottom tier holds agar (kanten), mitsumame, and syrup. It is a vibrant composition featuring colorful fruits such as white peach, yellow peach, pineapple, cherry, and kiwi, accompanied by adzuki beans, gyuhi (soft mochi), and mizuyokan (jelly). To eat, simply pour the ingredients from the top tier into the bottom tier and mix everything together. Because it requires refrigeration and has a short shelf life, its freshly prepared coolness is especially delightful. It is a dish that beautifully brightens your summer snack time.
