Rokkatei Natsumimai (Summer Greeting)

A jelly confection delivered only during the summer by Rokkatei of Obihiro. As its name 'Natsumimai' implies, it is a cooling treat perfect for the season of summer greeting cards. Made by turning syrup and jam from Wakayama plums into jelly, each piece is hand-cut. It features a crunchy texture from the powdered sugar sprinkled on the surface and the fruity sweet-and-sour taste of plum. The transparent case contains two types of jelly—light and dark colored—creating a visually cooling effect. It is also delicious when eaten frozen, helping to alleviate the summer heat.
