Shibetsu Yokan Honpo Shibetsu Yokan

A famous Hokkaido yokan (sweet bean jelly) that has been produced for over 90 years in Nakashibetsu, Eastern Hokkaido. While typical yokan are made with adzuki beans, the defining feature of Shibetsu Yokan is the use of Hokkaido-grown Kintoki beans. It offers a simple, subtly sweet flavor made without synthetic colorings and using beet sugar. Its origins date back to 1927 (Showa 2), when Tosaku Hasegawa opened a confectionery shop in Nakashibetsu and handcrafted yokan over charcoal fires. The name “Shibetsu Yokan” comes from the fact that this area was still part of Shibetsu Village at that time. With the gentle flavor unique to Kintoki beans and a smooth mouthfeel, it is a treat you want to savor slowly along with its history rooted in the land of Eastern Hokkaido.
