Tsukisamu Anpan Honpo Tsukisamu Anpan

This is a true signature confection that has been loved for over 100 years in Tsukisamu, Sapporo. Although it calls itself 'anpan,' it is not a fluffy bread, but rather a semi-moist sweet filled with plenty of smooth red bean paste inside a thin baked crust. It is characterized by a substantial texture similar to a mooncake. Its roots are ancient; born in the land of Tsukisamu where an army regiment was stationed during the Meiji era, Yosaburo Honma began manufacturing and selling it in 1906. The flavor is so deeply rooted in the community that the name 'Anpan Road' remains from an anecdote about it being distributed as a snack during road construction. When you open the retro packaging, the simple sweetness of Hokkaido-grown adzuki beans spreads out. It is a nostalgic treat that evokes memories of one's hometown.
