Tanegashima is an island of uniquely characterful sweet potatoes, including Anno and Purple varieties. Tanegashima Shuzo, located in Nishinoomote City, brews the island's potato shochu. Known for brands such as 'Tanegashima' and 'Kyuyo,' they produce shochu using various sweet potatoes grown on the island. The charm unique to Tanegashima shochu is that the individual characteristics of each potato, such as the melt-in-your-mouth sweetness of Anno potatoes, are directly reflected in the flavor. Pure water from the island is used for the brewing process. Please enjoy the rich sweetness and deep flavor of the potatoes on the rocks or with hot water.
