Taku Manju

When you break the soft, fluffy skin, the smooth red bean paste flows out. With one bite, a nostalgic, gentle sweetness spreads through your mouth. This is a simple manju passed down in Taku. Taku City is known as the 'Village of Confucius.' The Taku Seibyo, built in 1708, is one of Japan's leading Confucian temples alongside Ashikaga School in Tochigi and Kankitsu School in Okayama, and is designated as a National Important Cultural Property. This manju is a traditional confection that has been enjoyed as a souvenir for visiting this historic temple. Local confectionery shops continue to make them one by one using traditional methods. Please enjoy it with tea after visiting this historic town.
