Kawanishi Fig Sweets
These sweets feature a luxurious use of Kawanishi City's specialty figs. The melting sweetness of the ripe fruit graces our tarts and pound cakes. Kawanishi is a well-known fig-producing region even within the Kansai area. There are shops dedicated to creating Western-style confectionery that utilizes these local ingredients, and among them, the fig pound cake—made with plenty of ripe fruit—is a particularly popular item. The skill of our chef, who is committed to natural ingredients, shines through, leading these products to be selected as hometown tax (Furusato Nozei) return gifts. With the unique texture of the tiny seeds and a rich sweetness reminiscent of jam, it is a flavor that seems to capture the bountiful harvest of autumn. This is Kawanishi's very own, special dessert.
