Gaufre (Kobe Fugetsudo)
Gaufre is a representative Western-style confection of Kobe, featuring thin, crispy wafer layers filled with cream. Produced by Kobe Fugetsudo, founded in 1897. In the late Taisho era, inspired by French sweets brought back by customers returning from Europe, the company underwent repeated trials, leading to the birth of Gaufre in 1927 (the 30th year of the company's founding).
