Mochimugi Dorayaki
This is a famous dorayaki from Fukasaki Town, the birthplace of folklorist Kunio Yanagita. The dough is kneaded with mochimugi, making for a delightful snack with a slightly popping texture. It is produced by the town's 'Mochimugi no Yakata.' To make use of the Fukasaki specialty mochimugi, which saw its cultivation revived in 1986, a women's group from the local mochimugi production cooperative collaborated with a manufacturer to develop it. The skin also features an adorable Kappa brand mark, inspired by the town's yokai legends. With a gentle harmony of chewy skin and moist bean paste, this is a creative Japanese confection born from local ingredients and the hands of the townspeople, providing a heartwarming experience with every bite.
