Henri Charpentier (Ashiya Main Store)
Henri Charpentier is known nationwide as a prestigious maker of financiers and madeleines, and its origins lie here at the Ashiya Main Store. Founded in 1969, it all began when the founder, during his restaurant training, was moved by the smiles of people delighted by the flames of flambé and opened a small coffee shop in front of Ashiya Station. The shop's name is inspired by a French chef credited with inventing the dessert 'Crêpe Suzette.' The store's specialty, Crêpe Suzette, is a masterpiece unique to Ashiya, finished right before your eyes. Smooth crepes with the brilliant aroma of orange and liqueur. It is a classic taste of Western confectionery that has been loved for over half a century.
