Yukari
With a single bite, the rich umami and savory aroma of shrimp gently rise. This is "Yukari" from Sakaku Sohonpo, the pinnacle of shrimp crackers. Its roots trace back to the Edo period. It is said that the Lord of Owari, Tokugawa Mitsutomo, highly praised "Ebi Hanpei" (shrimp paste grilled on the beach), which subsequently became an imperial tribute. In 1889, the founder Jiro Sakaku refined the production method to complete the raw-baked cracker, and in 1966, it was named "Yukari." Using approximately 70% natural shrimp per piece, the umami is sealed on an iron plate before being carefully double-baked using far-infrared rays. A deep shrimp aftertaste lingers after a crisp, light texture. A representative gift from Nagoya that has been loved across generations.
