In Obuse, the birthplace of chestnut confectionery, the autumn specialty is a Mont Blanc that uses local fresh chestnuts lavishly to bring out their maximum flavor. In particular, Obuse-do's 'Mont Blanc Suzaku' is a masterpiece inspired by chestnut dim sum, reportedly using about 10 chestnuts in a single serving. As for the seasonal autumn wagashi 'Suzaku,' which can only be tasted at the main store, it is so popular that lines form from early morning to obtain numbered tickets. It is a luxurious dish that feels as if you are eating the chestnut itself. It is a flavor that can truly be called the greatest pleasure of visiting Obuse in autumn.
