Peanut Monaka

With a round and adorable shape that looks exactly like a peanut. When you bite into the shell, sweet candied beans peek out from within the smooth fine bean paste—Peanut Monaka is a masterpiece that embodies Chiba in both appearance and substance. It was created by Nagomi no Yoneya, a long-established shop in Narita that has been in business since 1899. The origin traces back to when they began live demonstrations of making monaka shaped like Chiba's famous peanuts at their tourist center, which opened in 1995. After dozens of prototypes to achieve the perfect monaka texture and a color reminiscent of peanut skin, it was officially released as "Peanut Monaka" in 1998. It is a souvenir packed with the essence of Chiba, so delicious you'll find yourself reaching for another one alongside your tea.
