Fujiiya Momiji Manju

Momiji Manju from Fujiiya, a long-established shop that has been loved in Miyajima for nearly a century since its founding in Taisho 14 (1925). Fujiiya was founded in 1925 in the Omotesando shopping street of Miyajima. It is a renowned shop counted as one of the 'Big Three' Momiji Manju makers. Their signature 'wisteria-colored smooth red bean paste' (koshian) features an elegant and smooth taste, created through traditional techniques where each adzuki bean skin is manually peeled before cooking. This paste is wrapped in castella batter and baked into a fluffy maple leaf shape. In addition to smooth red bean paste, they offer a wide variety of flavors including chunky red bean paste, matcha, cream, and chocolate. It is a classic souvenir for after visiting Itsukushima Shrine, continuing to preserve the authentic taste of Miyajima for generations.
