Ito Kyuemon Uji Komochi
A matcha-scented mochi confection crafted by the long-established Uji tea specialist, Ito Kyuemon. Ito Kyuemon was founded in 1832 and is a venerable Uji tea merchant. Having started the tea business in Ujitawara, they have passed down tea production through generations. Today, with their main store located on the approach to Byodo-in Temple, they are beloved for their fragrant Uji tea and matcha sweets. "Uji Komochi" is a mochi sweet that leverages the flavor of that very Uji matcha. The chewy dough is thoroughly infused with the bittersweet aroma of matcha.
