Sasara-ya Kitamae Yakimochi

Toyama flourished greatly during the Edo period through the trade of Kitamaebune ships. Named in honor of this history, 'Kitamae Yakimochi' is crafted by Hinodeya Seika, a company dedicated solely to rice cracker making. We slowly bake glutinous rice from Toyama Prefecture and coat it with the savory aroma of soy sauce. It offers a simple, rustic flavor with a chewy texture reminiscent of grilled mochi. As you chew, the umami of the rice and the fragrance of the soy sauce spread, evoking a sense of nostalgia. This is a delightful snack for daily enjoyment, pairing perfectly with tea or as an accompaniment to drinks. It is an okaki (rice cracker) you can enjoy while reflecting on the history of Toyama's maritime trade. One bag is enough for the whole family to enjoy.
