Chimoto Hachiri
Chimoto's handmade masterpiece from Hakone Yumoto: Hachiri. A Japanese sweet with a cute, round shape like a bell that makes you want to pick it up instinctively. The name 'Hachiri' is derived from Hakone Hachiri, known as a steep mountain path. Its shape is modeled after the bells attached to the horses of the packhorses that traveled the highway. Filled with bean paste inside a soft monaka shell and tied with red, purple, and white strings, it is crafted with an air of travel nostalgia. It is also a highly skilled confection that has won a gold medal at the National Confectionery Expo. The crispy monaka skin and gently sweet bean paste crumble delicately in your mouth.
