During the summer, 'Yanaba' are set up along the Midori River flowing through Kosa Town. A 'yana' is a traditional fishing method using bamboo structures to catch sweetfish as they swim downstream. Being able to observe this process up close and enjoy freshly caught sweetful fish—prepared as salt-grilled or simmered in sweet soy sauce—is a quintessential summer tradition in Kosa. Tasting freshly grilled sweetfish amidst the cool riverside breeze is the very essence of the clear stream's bounty. Summer sweetfish enjoyed by a cool riverside. Please enjoy this seasonal bounty, available only for a single summer, accompanied by the sound of the flowing water.
