Taka Local Sake

Taka Town in Kita-Harima is the birthplace of Yamada Nishiki, the king of sake rice. It is said that 'Yamada-ho,' the progenitor variety of Yamada Nishiki, was discovered by a farmer in the Nakaku district of this town. Even today, many farmers cultivate high-quality Yamada Nishiki and supply it to breweries across the country. In the town, the Junmai Daiginjo 'Taka,' made from 100% locally grown Yamada Nishiki, has been branded to promote its name nationwide. The area is also known as the home of 'Sugiharagami,' Japan's finest handmade washi paper, and is a land rich in tradition and history. As the hometown of Yamada Nishiki, which can be called the origin of all sake, the local sake brewed with great care here quietly breathes with the pride and history of the land.
