Kato Local Sake

Kato City is a land with deep historical ties to the history of Yamada Nishiki, the king of sake rice. In 1936 (Showa 11), this sake rice was officially named 'Yamada Nishiki' at an experimental site in the Sawa area of the city. It is truly a prestigious and special region that can be called the holy land of Yamada Nishiki. Kamimusubi Sake Brewery, the only brewery remaining in the city with such history, was founded in 1893 (Meiji 26). Their light and crisp sake, brewed with underground water from Mt. Gofū and locally grown Yamada Nishiki, has won numerous gold awards at the National New Sake Awards. This is truly a local sake born from the birthplace of Yamada Nishiki. Please take your time to savor a cup created by the meeting of the bountiful harvest of the Banshu Plain and pure, clear water.
