Fukunishiki (Fukunishiki Sake Brewery)

Located in Kasai City, 'Fukunishiki' is a long-established brewery founded in 1839 (Tenpo 10). It is said that the name was inspired by the beautiful autumn leaves of the nearby Hokke-ji Temple, and the brewery is known for its Junmai sake production that directly pursues the 'umami of rice'. In 1992, it became the first brewery in Western Japan to produce exclusively Junmai sake, and since 1996, it has maintained a commitment to using only rice grown in Kasai City. The flavorful sake, brewed solely with local rice and water, is deeply loved by the local people. At 'Fuku-kura', operated by the brewery, visitors can enjoy meals, sweets, and tastings in an atmospheric space renovated from the old brewery. This is a bottle filled with the umami of Harima, crafted by a brewery rooted in its land.
