Sanda Local Sake

Sanda City, known for its Sanda beef, is a peaceful town rich in nature, spreading across the northern Settsu highlands. Okamura Sake Brewery, the only brewery remaining in the city, has continued to brew the local sake 'Chidori Masamune' since its founding in 1889. Its brewing is characterized by the use of subsoil water from the Habatuki River that flows near the brewery and sake rice grown in their own fields. While it is said there were 14 breweries in the city during the mid-Meiji era, this single brewery now continues to carefully preserve the tradition of Sanda's local sake. The local style is to pair it with sukiyaki made with premium Wagyu 'Sanda beef.' The flavor produced by the pure highland water gently complements the richness of the meat. It is a proud cup filled with the blessings of the land.
