Houmei (Houmei Sake Brewery)
A local sake from the castle town that accompanies Botan-nabe, infused with the skills of the Tanba Toji. Houmei Sake Brewery is a long-standing brewery in Tanba-Sasayama, founded in 1797 (Kansei 9). The brewery and main building, constructed in the late Edo period, still remain today, preserving the atmosphere of that era. Brewed with the rich nature and pure water of Tanba, this sake has an excellent compatibility with local specialties such as Botan-nabe (wild boar hot pot) and Tanba black soybeans. At the adjacent 'Horoyoi Joka-gura,' you can also enjoy unique local sakes made using Tanba black soybeans and chestnuts. The traditional techniques of the Tanba Toji create a mellow and deep flavor. This is a bottle that makes you want to savor the blessings of Tanba while surrounded by the atmosphere of the historic castle town. Please enjoy it alongside the flavors of autumn.
