Taka Banshu Hyakunichi-dori
Banshu Hyakunichi-dori is a local breed of chicken carefully raised in Taka Town. It was created in 1978 in pursuit of the original flavor of 'kashiwa' (chicken) during an era when mass production had become the norm. As its name suggests, it is characterized by being raised slowly over an average of 100 days. By allowing them to grow for a longer period, the umami component, inosinic acid, reaches its peak, which is said to enhance its sweetness. Since its inception, production has been limited to the Taka District, surrounded by mountains and forests, where they are raised amidst a blessed natural environment. With a pleasant chewiness and a juicy, intense umami flavor, please try this chicken that lacks any strong poultry odor and pairs perfectly with both Japanese and Western cuisines.
