Beef Chirimen with Kobe Beef
Place a small amount on warm rice and take a bite. The rich, deep flavor of Kobe beef overlaps with the savory aroma of chirimen isko, allowing the umami to spread gently through your mouth. Although it is simmered in a sweet and salty tsukudani style, it is not heavy, making it an irresistible luxury side dish that will keep you reaching for more rice. This product is crafted by Taruya Gohei, a long-established shop in Hyogo-tsu with an 80-year history. It is a specialty dish that combines two local treasures: fresh chirimen caught in the seas of Kobe and the world-renowned Kobe beef from Hyogo. Without using additives, it is slowly simmered with domestic whole soybean sauce to achieve a profound flavor. Perfect for rice balls or chazuke (tea over rice). It is a slightly luxurious furikake that is unique to Kobe.
