Katashimo Winery
Founded in 1914 (Taisho 3), Katashimo Winery is the oldest surviving winery in western Japan. It all began in Kashiwara City, a famous grape-producing region, when the founder, Sakujiro Takai, successfully ventured into winemaking alongside his fruit orchard management. Known as a pioneer who opened up Osaka's wine culture by skillfully applying sake brewing techniques. The charming cellar built during the Taisho era is registered as a National Tangible Cultural Property, and winery tours where you can feel the history are also popular. Please take your time with a glass nurtured by over 100 years of history. Enjoy the flavors born from the grapes of Kawachi at your leisure.
