Yahata no Mishun (Sacred Sake of Yahata)
This is the 'Yahata no Mishun,' a sacred sake passed down in the temple town of Iwashimizu Hachimangu. Iwashimizu Hachimangu, located in Otokoyama, Yahata City, is an ancient shrine said to have been founded in the first year of the Jogan era (859). It has long garnered deep devotion as a deity protecting the nation. The main hall, rebuilt by Tokugawa Iemitsu, is the oldest and largest existing example of Hachimangu-zukuri architecture and is designated as a National Treasure. At the foot of the mountain, a temple town flourished with many worshippers, and this sacred sake has been passed down to the present day as an essential part of the shrine's rituals and the culture of the town. We invite you to enjoy a glass while reflecting on the long history of this prestigious shrine. This is a sake that breathes with the faith and daily life of the Yahata region.
