Boshu Biwa (Loquat)
The 'Lady of Fruits' that can only be tasted during early summer—the 'Boshu Biwa' grown in Minamiboso is a premium fruit known for its melting flesh and gentle sweetness. It is said that loquat cultivation on the Boso Peninsula dates back to 1751 (the first year of the Horeki era), boasting a history of over 270 years. Since 1909, it has also been presented to the Imperial Family. Benefiting from the warm climate and the blessings of the Kuroshio Current, each loquat is plump and large. Chiba is known as the second-largest producer in Japan, following Nagasaki. Peel away the skin and take a bite. It is a luxury unique to early summer, where juicy nectar overflows with every mouthful.
