Inba Peanuts of Sakura
Crack open a peanut that has been boiled in its shell with a bit of salt. As you take a bite of the fluffy, soft nut, the sweetness of the bean and the perfect hint of saltiness spread gradually with every chew—boiled Inba peanuts are an autumn specialty. Chiba Prefecture boasts the highest production volume of peanuts in Japan. Among them, the 'Oomasari' variety, born in this prefecture, is about twice the size of regular peanuts, featuring a soft texture and abundant sweetness. The entire Hokuso region, including Sakura and Yachimata, is known as a major production hub. Because they do not keep well, freshly boiled peanuts offer a seasonal taste that can truly only be experienced in the production area. Once you pick up a single grain, you won't be able to stop. It is a luxurious, handcrafted taste—fluffy and sweet.
