Boshu Loquat

Plump, large fruits that shine with a golden-orange luster. As you gently peel the skin and take a bite, the juice overflows from the thick flesh, spreading an elegant sweetness across your palate—the Boshu loquat, grown in Minamiboso, is the 'Lady of Fruits' that can only be tasted during a brief period in early summer. Loquats grow under the warm climate of Boso. By carefully selecting individual clusters through bud and fruit thinning, nutrients are concentrated to grow them large and sweet. To protect the delicate fruit from strong sunlight and insects, each one is individually bagged. Fruits produced with such painstaking care have been presented to the Imperial Family since the Meiji era. It is best enjoyed chilled and fresh. It is a luxurious sweetness that you can encounter for only a few weeks in early summer.
