Kamogawa Seafood
Fatty splendid alfonsino and firm-fleshed spiny lobster. As you bring the plump sashimi to your mouth, the concentrated umami of the sea rushes in—Kamogawa seafood is a delicacy born from the bountiful fishing grounds of Boso. The waters off Kamogawa, where the Oyashio and Kuroshio currents meet, provide an ideal habitat for splendid alfonsino. The 'Ji-kinme' (locally caught alfonsino), pulled up one by one, is thick-fleshed and exceptionally fatty. The spiny lobsters from Sotobo, weathered by rough waves, also possess an extraordinary firmness. With a local seafood bowl topped with freshly caught local fish, you can enjoy the essence of Boso's seasonal bounty in a single dish. Tasting it at a seaside eatery makes that freshness truly exceptional. A colorful array of seafood that whets the appetite just by looking at it. This is a dish you must try when visiting Kamogawa.
