Tateyama Seafood

A seafood bowl where freshly caught seafood glistens beautifully. With plump spiny lobster, fatty bonito, and crunchy shellfish—every bite brings the bounty of the Boso sea to your mouth. The southern tip of the Boso Peninsula, where Tateyama is located, is known as an ideal fishing ground where the warm Kuroshio Current and the cold Oyashio Current meet. Chiba Prefecture boasts the highest spiny lobster catch in the country, and around Tateyama, a diverse variety of seasonal seafood is landed, including horse mackerel, flounder, white mackerel, and fatty bonito in the autumn. 'Sanga-yaki,' a local dish made by grilling namerō (minced fish with miso), is also a representative flavor of Minamiboso. Feasting on seafood while gazing at the ocean in a dining hall by the fishing port. All the joys of travel are packed right here.
