Nanbu Bijin

When poured into a cup, a gentle and mellow aroma rises. With a single sip, a soft umami glides smoothly over the tongue, finishing with a clean crispness—a fine sake from Ninohe that possesses both gentleness and elegance. The producers of Nanbu Bijin are now in their fifth generation since the Meiji era founding. They brew primarily using Iwate-grown rice varieties such as 'Gin-otome' and 'Gin-ginga,' combined with local medium-hard subsoil water. Its clear, pure quality—free of impurities—is known worldwide for its excellent balance and sharp finish; in certain years, it has even reached the top of the SAKE category in international competitions. Today, it is distributed to countries all over the world. When chilled, the aroma becomes light and refreshing; when warmed, the umami expands. A versatile companion that pairs well with any cuisine, it quietly enriches the dining tables of Iwate.
