Izumo Hitokuchi Zenzai
A convenient "one-bite zenzai" arriving from Izumo, considered the birthplace of zenzai. This delightful souvenir pack allows you to enjoy authentic Izumo zenzai just by heating it up. It is said that the "Jinzaimochi" served during the Kamiari Festival in the tenth month of the lunar calendar in Izumo became corrupted into "zenzai" in the Izumo dialect and was later introduced to Kyoto. Its origins are even recorded in Edo-period literature. This dish features soft mochi paired with a lightly sweetened bean paste made from carefully simmered Hokkaido adzuki beans. You can easily enjoy zenzai from its birthplace right at home. It is perfect as a treat for yourself during the cold season or as a gift.
