Shinshu Iida Ito-ya Apple Tree Avenue
A confection made by Ito-ya of Iida City, inspired by the city's symbol, the "Apple Tree Avenue." The Apple Tree Avenue was born in 1953 through the enthusiasm of students from Iida Higashi Junior High School and is a 400-meter street that Iida is proud of, still maintained by generations of junior high students today. Ito-ya's "Apple Tree Avenue" uses domestic Fuji apples to wrap white bean paste that retains the texture of the apple, resulting in a gentle mouthfeel. A pleasant freshness of sweet and subtle acidity spreads from the fragrant, biscuit-like dough. The story of the town lives within every bite. It is a heartwarming souvenir representing Iida, Southern Shinshu.
