Sakurai Kanseido Pure Chestnut Mizu-Yokan
A 'Pure Chestnut Mizu-Yokan' crafted solely with chestnuts by Sakurai Kanseido of Obuse Town. Sakurai Kanseido is a long-established chestnut confectionery shop with over 200 years of history, said to have been founded in 1808 when the first generation created the first chestnut sweet in Obuse. This Mizu-Yokan (soft jelly dessert) was born from a desire to convey the pure flavor of chestnuts directly, and it has been a long-selling favorite for over 30 years since its release. It does not use adzuki beans, prioritizing an unadulterated chestnut taste. The smooth texture allows the aroma of chestnut to spread gently, leaving an elegant sweetness on the tongue. Enjoyed chilled, it provides a refreshing moment even in summer. As a seasonal product available from April through summer, it is a wonderful choice for summer gifts like Ochugen.
