Kiso no Kodama (Spirits of Kiso)
A melt-in-your-mouth confection inspired by the tree spirits living in the mountains of Kiso. "Taguchi" is a long-established confectionery shop in Kiso with over a hundred years of history. "Kiso no Kodama" is an original tea sweet created specifically for tea ceremonies held at Suisanro, the former residence of the Kiso village magistrate. It is baked similarly to the traditional Spanish confection Polvorón, combining carefully roasted flour with hazelnut, almond, and cinnamon. Its charm lies in its elegant sweetness using Wasanbon sugar and its unique, crumbling texture. Upon taking a bite, it gently crumbles, allowing a fragrant aroma to spread softly. This flavorful item is nurtured by the rich nature of Kiso.
