A Japanese confection made by a long-established Matsumoto shop, designed to evoke thoughts of the mountain passes in the Northern Alps. Founded in 1884, Kaiundo is a confectionery shop in Matsumoto. At their Azumino factory, they use Alpine subsoil water pumped from a deep well 200 meters underground for their sweets making. "Tokumoto Pass" is named after a pass in the Northern Alps that leads to Kamikochi. It subtly expresses the grand nature unique to the mountain city of Matsumoto through an elegant sweetness. Just saying its name brings to mind the pure mountain air. This flavorful masterpiece from Kaiundo is nurtured by the climate of Matsumoto.
