Kaiundo Tokumoto Pass
A Japanese confection made by a long-established Matsumoto shop, designed to evoke thoughts of the mountain passes in the Northern Alps. Founded in 1884, Kaiundo is a confectionery shop in Matsumoto. At their Azumino factory, they use Alpine subsoil water pumped from a deep well 200 meters underground for their sweets making. "Tokumoto Pass" is named after a pass in the Northern Alps that leads to Kamikochi. It subtly expresses the grand nature unique to the mountain city of Matsumoto through an elegant sweetness.
