Kaiundo Kaiun Matsu
A traditional Japanese confection from a long-established Matsumoto shop, comparing the joy of founding a business to the pine tree, a symbol of longevity. Kaiundo is a confectionery shop in Matsumoto founded in 1884. "Kaiun Matsu" was created in 1964 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the company's founding. It is a steamed confection with cinnamon-flavored paste designed to resemble the bark of an old pine tree, featuring chunky red bean paste inside and smooth bean paste outside. The unexpected combination of adzuki beans and cinnamon creates a unique taste found nowhere else. With every bite, the aroma of cinnamon gently rises. This is a representative Shinshu confection that evokes the history and dignity of the castle town of Matsumoto. A prideful item from Kaiundo that has been loved for many years.
