Iijima Shoten Oume-hime
A plum-flavored sweet that evokes the history of Ueda, the home of the Sanada clan. Iijima Shoten is a long-established shop in Ueda, famous for "Misuzu Ame," made with fruits special to Shinshu. Created in 1919 (Taisho 8) inspired by Okina-ame, Misuzu Ame remains a representative confection of Ueda. Its sister product, "Oume-hime," is a plum sweet named after the legendary Oume-hime, who has ties to Ueda. It features a clean, elegant flavor that brings out the essence of the plum. The spirit of fruit confectionery making, which continues at their main store—a registered tangible cultural property—lives on even in this small treat. With an elegant sweetness perfect for tea time, please enjoy it along with the stories of the Sanada village. We invite you to try it as a memento of your visit to Ueda.
