Kuri Kinton Kuzumochi
A Japanese confection where kuri kinton (sweet chestnut paste) is wrapped in jiggly kuzumochi (kuzu starch jelly). It features the fluffy sweetness of chestnuts and the smooth, slippery texture of kuzu—a delightful treat where two distinct textures meet. Kuri kinton is a simple chestnut sweet made by carefully simmering chestnuts and sugar. We have combined this flavor, unique to Shinshu (known widely as a chestnut production area), with refreshing kuzumochi that is perfect for summer. As you bite through the chilled kuzu, the gentle sweetness of the chestnut softly reveals itself. When enjoyed well-chilled, it becomes a cooling Japanese sweet that brings joy even in the heat of summer. It is a dish that delights both the eyes and the palate.
