Shinshu Mebukido Kurumi Yubeshi
A Yubeshi containing walnuts, made by Shinshu Mebukido. The fragrant crunch of walnuts adds an accent to the chewy dough. It is a simple, somewhat nostalgic Japanese confectionery. Yubeshi is a traditional mochi sweet made with glutinous rice and other ingredients. Since its founding in 1959, Mebukido has been a long-established shop continuing to create Shinshu souvenirs. Reflecting Nagano Prefecture's status as the top producer of walnuts in Japan, it uses plenty of fragrant walnuts. With a single bite, the chewy texture and savory aroma of the walnuts spread gently. This dish is packed with the simple deliciousness of Shinshu, perfect to enjoy alongside warm tea.
