Shinshu Iida Itouya Daimyo Kintsuba
The 'Daimyo Kintsuba' is a confection that the long-established shop 'Itouya' in Iida City has continued to make since its founding. As the name suggests, it is a Japanese sweet that exudes a dignified presence. Its round shape is modeled after the 'tsuba' (guard) of a sword, conveying a sense of samurai heritage to the present day. Using a traditional method, we gently wrap elegantly cooked bean paste in a thin skin. The reliable skills passed down by confectioners in Southern Shinshu live on in every single piece. Through the thin skin, you can feel the smooth and gentle sweetness of the bean paste. When enjoyed with tea, it is a deeply delicious item that makes you feel as though time is flowing slowly and peacefully in Southern Shinshu.
