Futabado Ohanabatake (Flower Garden)

Futabado's 'Ohanabatake' is a type of rakugan (pressed sugar candy) designed with adorable depictions of alpine plants from Shinshu. Founded in 1804 (Bunka 1), Futabado is a long-established shop with over 200 years of history, having once served as an official purveyor to the Suzaka Domain. They use traditional techniques to beautifully finish red pea and chestnut paste. Each individually wrapped piece depicts a different alpine plant, offering an exciting cuteness that feels like walking through a flower garden. When placed in your mouth, it crumbles delicately, and a gentle sweetness spreads softly. It is visually delightful and delicious to eat—a colorful Nagano souvenir that will please all generations, from children to the elderly.
