Irohado Oyaki - Vegetable Mix

"Oyaki" is a local specialty you are certain to encounter when traveling through Shinshu. Among them, "Irohado" in Kinasa, Nagano City, is known nationwide as a famous shop for oyaki. Irohado is a long-established shop founded in 1925 (Taisho 14). Using a unique "age-yaki" (deep-fry then bake) method—where they are lightly fried in oil and then finished in an oven—they achieve a texture that is crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. This texture is made possible by the expertise of a shop that originally produced bread. The vegetable mix is packed with the bounties of Shinshu's fields. When you feel a little hungry, take a bite. As you stuff your mouth with warm oyaki, you will feel a sense of comfort, as if you have been invited to a family dining table in Shinshu.
