Kaiundo Dosojin
A simple and warm baked sweet modeled after the Dosojin (roadside deity) of Azumino. Founded in 1884, Kaiundo is a long-established confectionery shop representing Matsumoto. Dosojin are roadside guardian deities found along the roadsides of Shinshu, enshrined to pray for safe travels and good matches. This baked sweet is shaped gently after their appearance. Its simple and gentle flavor brings to mind the pastoral landscapes of Shinshu.
