Azusado Kobayashi Momoshizuka
An elaborate and charming Japanese confection that encapsulates an entire small peach. Azusado Kobayashi is a long-established confectionery shop in Azumino/Matsumoto, founded in 1922. Momoshizuka is a labor-intensive creation where a whole small peach is encased in double layers of smooth red bean paste (koshian) and yellow yolk paste (kimi-an). The soft, sweet aroma of the peach and the elegant taste of the bean paste spread throughout your mouth. Its charm lies in its seasonal appearance and gentle sweetness, unique to Shinshu, a region famous for its fruit. The sight of the small peach revealed when sliced is truly delightful. It is a special Japanese sweet, crafted with great care by a long-established master, pleasing to both the eyes and the palate.
