Okashidokoro Fujimura: Fuji Monaka

Okashidokoro Fujimura is a long-established Japanese confectionery shop founded in 1938, featuring a store built in the traditional warehouse style located in Nakamachi, Matsumoto. It is beloved for its meticulous craftsmanship, utilizing the famous spring waters of this region known as a village of 명수 (meisui). The Fuji Monaka is our signature product, featuring a fragrant, baked monaka shell generously filled with moist, slow-cooked bean paste. Its beautiful shape, reminiscent of wisteria blossoms, is one of its many charms. The charming storefront is popular with tourists, making it a shop you'll want to visit every time you walk through Nakamachi Street.
